Worknet Business Resources, through collaboration with Worknet Partners, is your one stop resource to find exactly what you need for your workforce and business needs. Our team of Business Services professionals offers a full range of coordinated services at no-cost to employers that can save your business time and money.

Job Posting - Employers can post jobs directly through our one stop resource center at no-cost or have our Business Services staff assist you. You give us the job description, skills and abilities desired, and we'll share your information in our resource centers, with educational partners, and we'll do our best to find you the best match possible. Worknet encourages employers to use the employee recruitment services provided by the State through CalJOBS

Career Fairs/Custom Recruiting - We can help to develop career fairs and custom recruiting events specific to industries or businesses where employers can meet candidates face-to-face.

Training - If you're looking to hire candidates from our network, we offer three programs that can help offset training cost for new hires:

* On-the-Job Training (OJT) program enables businesses to hire qualified candidates from our network, with little or no experience, and employers will receive a reimbursement of 50% of the wages during the training agreement from three months up to six months. Training new hires can be costly. With our On-the-Job Training programs, you can save time and money. For details and qualifications, please call Mario Pena at (209) 724-2046.

* Expanded Subsidized Employment (ESE) is a program run in coordination with our partners at the Merced County Human Services Agency (HSA). The program can help reimburse employers 100% of the hourly wages for six months, when they hire a qualified candidate from the HSA network. To speak with our representative and learn more details of this program, please call Jaime Gutierrez at (209) 724-2122.

* Job Skills Placement (JSP) is a non-paid program, run in partnership with our Merced County Human Services Agency, that gives job seekers an opportunity to gain new skills. This is similar to a non-paid internship program, and employers can use this program for weeks or up to six months, depending on the individual selected. Our Employment and Training Specialist, Jaime Gutierrez at (209) 724-2122 can provide you more information.

Layoff/Rapid Response Services - Our team of professionals can conduct on-site sessions where employees can learn about job search techniques and reemployment and training opportunities in case of job displacement, and employers are provided with information to sustain and retain jobs to avert layoff within Merced County. Our Rapid Response team can help alleviate the impact on your business and your staff with onsite planning and orientations.

Sacramento, Calif. – The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) today announced a series of 28 workshops across California designed to help businesses apply for over $200 million in available California Competes Tax Credits (CCTC).

“Our message to business owners is simple, take advantage of this tax credit and create new job opportunities,” said Kristen Kane, GO-Biz Deputy Director. “The California Competes tax credit has encouraged hundreds of companies to expand in California and add thousands of good paying jobs. This application is free, it’s easy to apply and we want great companies that are expanding to receive these valuable tax credits.”

GO-Biz is awarding over $200 million in tax credits in fiscal year 2017-18. The next CCTC application period starts July 24, 2017. Businesses interested in applying can register to attend any of the workshops and receive helpful information from GO-Biz staff. GO-Biz has also partnered with several organizations to help promote the workshops and encourage local businesses to attend the events.
